TUNING

I learned to tune by ear, and still do it that way today.  It takes a little longer than by using an electronic aid.  My feeling  about ear versus machine tuning is this:

PIANO TUNING IS AN ART AND A CRAFT. THE END USER LISTENS WITH ANALOG EARS NOT DIGITAL DEVICES.

I listen to the sounds that each piano presents and shape them using the natural harmonics for a beautiful effect. I set (stabilize) the tuning pins and strings thoroughly which also takes time and effort. I don’t leave until my critical ear is satisfied. I guarantee my work.
