REGULATING
After tuning the most important aspect of piano work is regulating, which consists of adjusting the action to proper specifications. Part is purely mechanical and part is subjective (artistic). Getting a piano to feel and play well is fairly straightforward. It is a matter of twisting screws, bending wires, aligning parts, rebushing felt etc. The subjective part comes with voicing hammer felt which ultimately affects the tone of the whole piano. This part should always be done with the player’s ears available for feedback.
