In 1971,  I apprenticed with Theodore Tenegus, Master Piano Technician. He was a perfectionist and a very exacting teacher. I was with him for a year and then on my own for a year.  After that I got a job at Ralph Pierce Music.

Ralph Piece was a famous concert pianist and instructor. They sold only Yamaha pianos. I tuned and regulated new pianos every day in the store and at private homes. I also went out on referrals and serviced pianos. Other tuners worked in the store from time to time and I soaked up as much knowledge as possible from them. One of them was Francis Mehaffey, who was an innovator and inventor of specialized piano tools that are still in use today.

Needless to say, I have worked with some of the best in the business and have over 30 years experience on my own.
